Summary

HMC Senior Marketing Coordinators focus on fulfilling HMC's vision: to be a nationally-reorganized leader in our markets, connecting growth, innovation, diversity—and the best people – to design vibrant, healthy communities. This creative, forward-thinking individual will support the marketing efforts and messaging for our 80-plus-year old firm. They will be charged with crafting compelling stories and effective marketing collateral aligned with HMC's vision that delivers value to clients. They will act as a strategic partner and be responsible for implementing marketing strategies and processes in partnership with the marketing team to accelerate top-line growth and differentiation in the marketplace.

Senior Marketing Coordinators assist with the development of architectural pursuits to further market-specific and firm goals. Requires thorough knowledge of administration and professional services marketing methods and techniques and ability to assist the marketing team's efforts to craft compelling content.

This position can be located either in the Los Angeles, Ontario, Sacramento or San Diego, California office locations. The position requires 3 days in the office and the ability to work from home Mondays and Fridays. Writing samples and portfolio will be required when applying for this position.

Position Responsibilities

Proposal and Pursuit Presentations (55%):

  • Work closely with the marketing team, champions, designers, and Principals to develop deadline-sensitive deliverables such as proposals, qualifications packages, presentations, and award submissions
  • Prepare content for statements of interest and qualifications, proposals, SF330 forms, collateral materials, miscellaneous marketing, and marketing-oriented correspondence, etc.
  • Work with staff to plan, prepare, write, and produce proposal and presentation materials for potential clients
  • Write, edit, research, compile, and QC content from various sources into cohesive marketing materials, including cover letters, resumes, boilerplate information, project descriptions, process narratives, awards narratives, client information, graphics, etc.
  • Work closely with Marketing team to create compelling and easy to read submittals (brochures, statements of qualification, proposals, etc.)
  • Embrace and implement brand standards
  • Develop text for marketing material by interviewing project personnel and reviewing existing documentation
  • Conduct research, coordinate consultant materials, customize project profiles and team information and customize graphic layouts for bespoke submittals
  • Manage submittal documents, and processes for digital and hard copy submissions
  • Gather research data related to competitors; past, current, and prospective markets; and relevant corporate experience

Marketing Maintenance and Organization (25%):

  • Coordinate and work with marketing and project teams to maintain, archive and document projects, resumes, and technical reports across marketing server, Deltek, MangoApps, and Axomic OpenAsset
  • Coordinate and work with marketing and practice leadership to track and update leads across client sites, IMS, and Deltek
  • Create and update marketing materials such as process sheets, project lists, project reference information, resumes, industry and market segment information, and various other marketing documents for use in Pursuits, Awards, Thought Leadership, etc. across marketing server, Deltek, MangoApps, and Axomic OpenAsset
  • Regularly reviews all standard marketing materials to update and maintain the most current and accurate information
  • Maintain matrices, lists, and statistical information relevant to HMC
  • Develop brochures, qualifications, and other graphics projects
  • Ensure compliance with copyright laws and photographer usage rights
  • Assist practice leadership efforts with competitor analysis, client strategy, conducting web research, etc.
  • Monitor online and print sources, including newspapers, magazines, and blogs
  • Contribute to CRM maintenance and data entry related to clients, consultants, personnel, and mailing lists
  • Build relationships with specialized consultants and external marketing teams

Marketing Promotions (10%):

  • Coordinate awards competition entries; ensure compliance with award requirements
  • Develop of presentation decks for interviews or conferences
  • Create leave-behinds and presentation materials for business development activities
  • Champion social media campaigns across multiple platforms
  • Maintain online presence, including social media to promote HMC Architects
  • Track publication, association, and community event postings
  • Develop unique events/conference material/collateral material (groundbreakings/dedications)
  • May participate in the coordination of photoshoots with the project team

Professional and Community Involvement (5%):

  • Actively involved in professional marketing/graphics/communications organizations
  • Provide support and excellent client service to other areas of the company
  • Monitor sources of industry-related market information

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, english, journalism, or architecture or other applicable degree program is highly preferred
  • 2+ years of marketing experience for architecture, engineering, or construction company
  • 3+ years in a professional or support marketing role
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and InDesign)
  • Working knowledge of database programs such as Deltek and Axomic OpenAsset
  • Working knowledge of digital hub platforms such as MangoApps
  • Working knowledge of digital whiteboard programs such as Miro
  • Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Bridge, Lightroom, After Effects) software knowledge is preferred
  • Must be highly organized, effective with time, detail-oriented, and have high quality of work
  • Able to work well with various types of personalities and work styles
  • A self-starting and results-oriented outlook
  • Comfort in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines
  • Ability to take ownership of a project and see it through to completion
  • Strong proofreading ability
  • Strong verbal, writing, and graphic communication skills

The salary range for this position is $25.41 hour to $35.73 hour

The actual offered salary for this position will vary depending on multiple factors including the candidate’s qualification, education, position knowledge, work experience, skills, ability, work location, and internal incumbent compensation for similar roles. We do not anticipate individuals hired into this position will start at or near the top half of the range listed; the decision will be based on each individual case. The salary range listed above does not include other compensation elements such as discretionary bonus opportunities, employee stock ownership grants, paid time off, medical insurance, and other wage and benefit opportunities.
